Cecelia J "Judy" Lukens, age 70, of Cape May passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at her home. Judy was born August 20, 1944 in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia, PA. She is the daughter of the late Mark and the late Cecelia (Tyska) Gouran. Judy was a graduate of Springfield High School in Montgomery County, PA and received a BA degree in Political Science from American University in Washington, DC. She worked for 3 years in the banking business and was self employed for 15 years as a Music Teacher instructing pupils in guitar and piano. Judy also spent 15 years as a volunteer Associate Naturalist for the Cape May Bird Observatory. She is survived by her husband: Karl F Lukens; her 3 cousins: John Cotter, Vincent Cotter, & Christine Cotter LaPera; her sister-in-law Patricia Lukens (& Pat's daughter Donna (Dennis) Riveron); and her brother-in-law William E (Frances) Lukens (& their 3 children: William Carey Lukens, Gideon Lukens, & Abigail Lukens Frochtzwajg). Judy was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Richard Lukens. Friends will be received from 11:30 to 12:45 AM on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:30 pm on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Our Lady Star Of The Sea RC Church, Washington St, Cape May, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204.
