Obituary of Nancy T. McPherson

Nancy T. McPherson, a beloved member of the Cape May community, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Cape May on April 20, 1931, Nancy lived a full and vibrant life marked by love, creativity, and determination. Nancy was predeceased by her cherished children, Walter Jay Stiefel and Sandra Keaveney, as well as her siblings, Mary Ellen Dickinson, Doris Baker, and Shepphard W Taylor. Despite the loss of loved ones, Nancy's unwavering spirit and love for her family and friends were constants throughout her life. She enjoyed a rewarding career with Bell Telephone, where she retired after years of dedicated service. A true entrepreneur at heart, Nancy pursued her passions through various business ventures, including running a bus company and a clothing store. Nancy's creativity shone in her hobbies. She was an avid crafter who took great joy in creating unique works of art and was especially known for her homemade beach plum jelly, a delicious tradition she shared with family and friends. She is survived by her loving grandchildren: Walter Jay Stiefel Jr. (Pamela Stiefel), Joshua P. Keaveney, Christina Flannery, and Bruce Schumann. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Colin Dougherty, Walter Jay Stiefel III, and Savannah Schumann along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A service to honor Nancy's remarkable life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Evoy Funeral Home. 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to pay their respects and celebrate the legacy of this incredible woman. Burial will follow services at the Cold Spring Cemetery. Nancy will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort and joy to those she leaves behind.
