Bernadette C. Krebs, 76, a woman of grace, died peacefully at her family home on Monday, September 25th. The daughter of Frank and Catherine Krebs, she was born in Philadelphia on April 22, 1947. Bernadette dedicated her life to God and his people through various ministries. At the age of 18, she entered the convent as a sister of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and spent the next 40 years as a teacher in Catholic elementary schools, sharing her love of God with all of her students.
A devoted daughter, she cared lovingly for her parents at the end
of their lives.
Subsequently, she taught at Wildwood Catholic High School and Holy Spirit High School, where students remember her kind and loving manner.
Her last ministry was at St. Brendan the Navigator Parish in Stone Harbor and Avalon, where she served as Director of Religious Education.
Bernadette is predeceased by her parents, and her brother, Frank Krebs. She is survived by her loyal friends Patty and Tom Stocker and Janice Schumann; her devoted caretakers, Maura and Jose Viera, all of whom were with her until the end.
There will be a mass of Christian burial at Maris Stella Church in Avalon on Tuesday, October 3 at 10:00 am.
