Gertrude Mae Hammerstein, age 82, of Cape May passed away peacefully Thursday, April 27, 2017 at her home. Gertrude was born April 4, 1935 in Lewes, DE. She is the daughter of the late William and the late Bernice (Wilson) Palmer. Gertrude was employed at Crest Haven Nursing Home as a Nurse's Aide. She was predeceased by her husband, William Hammerstein in 1987 and her brother Frederick Palmer. Gertrude is survived by her son William (Tracy nee Fuller) Hammerstein and her son Ronald Douglass McPherson. Also surviving are her brother William Palmer, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many nieces & nephews. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
