Obituary of Raymond F O'Neill

Raymond F O'Neill, age 88, of North Cape May passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Victoria Manor. Born in Philadelphia and formerly of Feasterville, PA; he has been a Cape May area resident for 29 years. Raymond was a retired shipping manager employed with Charles J Becker & Brothers of Philadelphia. He also worked for Yale & Town Scales of Philadelphia. Raymond served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He was an avid golfer and bowler; and was very devoted to his family. Raymond was preceded in death by his daughter Catharine (our Angel). He is survived by his wife Josephine (nee Becker) and his children: Raymond (Marguerite); Josephine (Rusty) Haviland; Robert (Joan); Marion (Glenn) McKnight; Barbara (Keith) Detweiler; Elizabeth (David) Marschall; and Margaret (Stephen) McLean. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Catharine Chase & Barbara Wells. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, a gift can be made to support melanoma research at the Abramson Cancer Center, Penn Medicine Development, 3535 Market St, Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
