Charles W. Schaffer, 93 of Villas, NJ, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 in the Absecon Manor Nursing Home, Absecon, NJ.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was formerly of Voorhees, NJ before moving to the Villas in 1985.. He served during World War II in the U. S. Navy. He retired in 1979 from Wyeth Labs in Malvern, PA. He was a member of the VFW in the Villas and the Square Circle sportsman club in Gibbsboro, NJ.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Rita (2007) and son Charles. He is survived by a son Raymond (Sandra) Schaffer of Glenmoore, PA and a daughter Florence (Fred) Snoke of Cape May. He also leaves his sister Dorothy Rowan of Philadelphia, a daughter-in-law Eleanor Schaffer of wildwood Crest, 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Raymond's RC Church, Bayshore Road and Ocean Avenue, Villas where friends may call after 10 am. Burial will be at the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House. Donations to: American Cancer Society, 626 N. Shore Road, Absecon, NJ 08201
