Robert B Scheetz, age 81, of Cape May passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in Delaware County, PA and formerly of Drexel Hill, he has been a Cape May area resident since 1980. He graduated from Upper Darby High School and attended Drexel University. Robert served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cape May, the Cape Harmonaires, the South Jersey Small Craft Association, and enjoyed fishing & boating. Robert is survived by his wife Ruth (nee Newbold) Kane Scheetz of Cape May, and son Robert (Michael) Sheetz & his wife Erin of Collegeville, PA. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Todd, Lauren, Deena, Mark, and Sarah; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Judith Lynn Scheetz Moulder in 2007. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ; where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. The family suggests contributions in Robert's memory to the Cape May First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St, Cape May, NJ 08204.
